Just imagine yourself as you are about to save your precious photoshop file when the dialogue box pops up and disappears instantly, leaving you with a frozen program and deep regret for not having saved earlier? If you are a user of dual monitors, you may be plagued with this problem. In any case, if this happens to you try pressing ESC and voila! your photoshop will be alive again. In some cases, the save-as dialogue box will appear BEHIND photoshop. To solve this problem, restore your program so you can re-size it within windows and the proceed to drag most of it to the right. Upon saving again, you will notice that half of your save as box will appear behind photoshop. Simply click it and save away, problem solved!
Once this problem has been fixed, I have found that it does not happen in the same way again. If it were to occur, just follow the instructions and save yourself the hassle of thinking a reinstall will fix it!
